From the May 2014 UHIMSS Newsletter:
“What a fun and informative Innovation Technology Day that UHIMSS sponsored on April 15 with great attendance by our membership. We enjoyed the privilege of hearing from two Utah-based companies, Privasent and Orca Health. Kathleen Harris, VP and Cofounder of Privasent, described Privasent’s ability to provide 100% accurate, unique and interoperable identification of an individual by utilizing the biometric vein pattern of their hand or foot combined with smart card technology and cloud security. This new technology has been successfully Beta tested at Saint Peters University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.”
